Piranha was delighted to be commissioned by Brighton & Hove Pride to create an exhibition celebrating their 35th anniversary.
On display in the windows of Jubilee library Brighton for the whole of LGBTQ+ History Month (February 2026), the exhibition comprises 8 double-sided panels 1000mm x 1500mm featuring archive photos and a timeline of events.

Brighton & Hove Pride began in 1991 as a grassroots act of resistance. Born from the anger and energy of protests against Section 28, it brought together activists, allies and community members determined to demand equality and visibility. What started as a single march through the streets of Brighton has grown into one of the UK’s most significant LGBTQIA+ celebrations.
Over the past 35 years, Pride has evolved while staying true to its roots. The march remains the beating heart of the weekend – a protest against discrimination and a celebration of love, identity and progress. Alongside it, the Pride on the Park festival, Pride Street Party and numerous other community events have helped raise millions for local LGBTQIA+ causes, supporting the very people and groups that first fought for the right to be seen and heard.
This exhibition traces that journey – from handmade banners and small gatherings to the colour, creativity, and inclusivity that now define Pride in the city. Through photographs, and personal memories, we honour those who marched before, celebrate those who continue the work today, and recognise that Pride is more than a party. It is a living, collective act of visibility, solidarity and hope for future generations.
